Yom Kippur Retreat at Camp Kulaqua Sunday, September 27 - Monday, September 28, 2009 (registration req.)

Experience Yom Kippur as a Kabbalistic Inner Journey in a Beautiful Country Setting
Gainesville P'nai Or invites you to our twelfth Yom Kippur Retreat
Camp Kulaqua in High Springs, Florida
Sunday, September 27, 3 p.m. - Monday, September 28, 10 p.m.
Guided by Rabbi Shaya Isenberg & Reb Bahira Sugarman & Friends

Yom Kippur, the day of Atonement, is a twenty-six hour spiritual pilgrimage bringing us into the mystery of our inner Holy of Holies for healing our hearts and souls and for helping to heal the world. We follow the inner journey prescribed in the Yom Kippur liturgy. Each stage of the journey includes some chanting based on the Yom Kippur liturgy, guided meditations, time for silent sitting or walking meditation, as well as opportunities for sharing and appropriate breaks. The song and silence bring us deep into the transformative teshuvah and forgiveness work that are the essence of Yom Kippur. Torah reading and study help to internalize the values of this holy, awesome day, also serving as an invitation to meditation.

We will make our journey at Camp Kulaqua, a 700-acre woodland camp located in High Springs, less than a thirty-minute drive north of Gainesville, Florida.

The cost, minus lodging, but including two vegetarian evening meals, is $160 per person for members of Gainesville P'nai Or and $300 per person for those who are not members of Gainesville P'nai Or. (You needn't be a Gainesville resident to be a Gainesville member! Just send in your dues!) A limited number of students/low-income spaces are available, as are a few work-study partial scholarships. Thanks to a special arrangement with Hillel, the cost for students is only $9.00 for the retreat, which includes two vegetarian evening meals, and one night dormitory style bunk bed lodging (bring your own linens). You have the option to stay over Monday night for an additional $9.00. Private accommodations may also be available for an extra cost - check with Dennis. Hillel students must contact Dennis to arrange for this special reduced payment option. Lodging at Camp Kulaqua for Sunday night is available at varying costs; there is an additional room charge for those choosing to stay in their room after Monday afternoon checkout.

THIS IS A NON-SMOKING, FRAGRANCE FREE RETREAT

Reservation Deadline:
September 23, 2009
